Casting and Costume.
Casting was not a Major issue as we only have 3 Characters.
We casted Danny as the victim who is shot and hit by a car.
The Hitman was harder to cast as the person who played him would have to be able to drive so we found a friend who was willing to play the role so we casted Dean as the Hitman.
The passer by was decided Oscar was the better actor of the group so he was given the role
Victim - Danny Moesley
Hitman - Dean
Passer by - Oscar Russell
Myself and Aymen Fahmi took all behind the scenes duties such as filming and directing traffic etc..

Risk Assessment
Before even going in to finding our location we had 3 things in mind.
1) It needed to be a quite and out of the way road
2) It was crucial that the flow of traffic though the area was small as we were using a Fake gun.
3) The location needed to be as un-populated as possible
Because in our intro we have danny our victim being shot whilst laying on the floor in a pool of blood there are certain procedures that we needed to make sure were closely regulated. We contacted the local police station about getting permission to film the fake shooting on the Wednesday of filming. They gave us the number of the local officer who was directly integrated within windsor boys. He then gave us a written letter saying that we had permission to film in public with a replica firearm.
What this means is that if any calls came in from the general public saying that there is a man with a gun in the particular area we were filming the call would not be sent to the local authorities so that they could intervene. We made sure that all crew and cameramen had high visibility jackets on we did this so we could guide traffic. This was because Danny was lying in the middle of the road for a very large percentage of time so there was a danger of him being in harms way of a passing vehicle, but with us guiding the traffic there was no danger of this.

Target Audience and Demographics.
When looking at our film we came to a group conclusion about the Target Audience we looked at a few films that were very similar to ours. We really focused on the James Bond films, they are very similar to the kind of plot and characters that we feature in our intro. In terms of Percentages and Demographics Casino Royal in Particular was a 60% Male viewing audience and a 40% Female viewing audience. The 60% male audience are very much drawn into the cars the guns and the women, its a typical male fantasy to drive beautifully crafted cars with stunning women in the car with you, so james bond does wonders for the male viewers. The appeal for 40% women is majorly Daniel Craig who is the attractive male lead who draws a large female gathering. For our intro we are using the same demographics 60M/40F our film is definitely more male orientated however its not all action and is driven by a story line that is alluring to both Males and Females. Our Film is not targeted at a niche Audience its is geared towards appealing to the masses. However our main audience age boundaries are 16 to 45 year olds. Its very action packed so would automatically appeal to the younger members of the spectrum, but as audience grow older they start to look for more in a film rather than just an action packed thrill ride. This is why the older members will appreciate the more intricate plot behind the action.

Behind The Scenes Photos.
Just a View photos showing what things looked like on the opposite side of the camera..
Here we are shooting one of the opening sequences where the character "Danny" the victim is seen to be running away form something or someone through a rural English field.
This is the car that we used for the Hitmans transport and the Vehicle used to hit danny. As you can see Oscar is inside at this point filming some of the interior car shots prior to danny being hit.
This is danny after being hit by the Hitmans car, we sourced a local shop that sold fake blood that looked extremely realistic. We weren't really sure how it was going to turn out, but we were extremely happy with the overall result and realistic outcome we came out with.
Location Photos.
We traveled to Old Windsor to film, we found this Private field which was perfect for our opening running sequence, we proceeded to ask permission of the land owner so that we could use his field. The lane that was near the field was also the ideal location for filming all our car scenes it was remote and quite and the perfect back road. We had very little traffic passing through giving us large amounts of time to perfect the final shots.
The way the road meandered round was perfect for staging danny being purposely hit by the Hitman. There was also the perfect amount of road available for us so that we could shoot plenty of interior and exterior shots.
Initial Film Ideas
At first we filmed a draft intro based on a few ideas that we all had. after filming it and editing it we decided that we were not happy how it turned out, and we as we were all very unsure of the plot itself. The plot consisted of this one character a mysterious man who wakes up in the morning loading his gun that is placed carefully beside his bed. We thought that the gun would make the audience ask questions. For example Why has he got a gun? What does he do for a living? etc etc. The man then continues to go into his kitchen and fill up a glass of water and then he mysteriously collapses. As we finished filming at started to think about the whole idea we came to the conclusion that perhaps it wasn't thought out well enough. We also felt like we were capable of a lot more.
I could not upload the official script document so i just re wrote it for the benefit of the blog..

Shooting Schedule for Initial idea
We decided that we wanted to get all filming done within one day.
we finished school early on wednesday and made our way straight to the previously sourced location in which we had planned to film at. We spent about 4-5 hours on shooting on the day. and in total have put at least 2-3 hours into the final project. The reason we didn't spend a great deal of time on editing in this case, was because going into the production we all knew that initially this was just to test the water, to see how things panned out.

Our First Film Idea
Although this film was still done to a very high quality and would gain us a fairly good mark. However we went into this wanting better than just a fairly good mark, we wanted something that could gains us a perfect mark at A Level. So coming out the back of this project we got feed back from out teaches and knew what we had to redo or re film completely. we learnt from that and came back with out with a far better intro

Hermeneutic Code
Hermeneutic is a widely used tool in story telling. It i used to create tension at the beginning of a TV Drama/Film, It is used to engage and draw the audience or viewer into what they are watching. When something unexpected happens with in a program viewers feel the need to predict this then draws them in to watching very closely until they can prove or validate their theory. Hermaneutic code is very apparent in our initial film idea "Madness" the audience are always questions such as Why does he have a gun? what does he do for a living? what was in the water he drunk? This is Hermeneutic code.

Film Introduction 1.
Casino Royale
In the opening shot we see a dark gloomy building in what looks to be a fairly run down and crime ridden area typical of the action genre.A close up shot of An unknown character captures his expression to set the mood for the opening scene. The man enters the building and a close up shot of him entering a lift indicates that he's going up to the 4th floor. He walks into another sub room the man stands in the center of the room and out of no where bond opens up dialog. There is a quick pan from the Mans face to a medium close up of bond sitting calmly in a chair. This shot alone portrays Bond as a cool and collected character even in these early stages of the film. The second man sits down with Bond a medium long shot of the two men sitting at either side of the dark room. the lighting is very dark and tense giving the viewer a feel of perhaps something is going to happen. Suddenly a flash back sequence crashes in with quick fast paced cuts of Bond attacking another man. The more frequent cuts give the sequence a quick a hectic feel. The fight sequence features bond and the assailant crashing though wooden panels and breaking sinks, right at the end of the sequence there is a slow motion shot. The fight comes to an abrupt end and back to the tense stand off between the too men. The unknown man pulls out a gun we see a close up shot of his face with main focus on his face with the gun slightly out of focus. More dialog continues until we are flashed back once again into a violent fight sequence notably in these scenes the music is very well utilized creating a really tense and action filled mood. The Opening ends with a close up of Bonds face and him breathing heavily. The black and white coloring of the opening gives it a very stylistic feel.
Film Introduction 2
Inception
The opening shot for inception are shots of waves crashing into a large cliff face its then pans over to a close up of Leonardo face down in the sea. What looks to be a guard walks up to his lifeless body and prods him with his rifle He shouts to a fellow solider who is standing upon a cliff above him, this then shows a slow pan of the structure of that was in shot. We then cut into a slow foreword pan into a very Oriental styled room with 3 men all dressed in black suits two are standing and one is sitting at the head of a large table, this indicates that he's is the power holder. Leonardo is dragged in to the room to meet with the mysterious man. A shot reverse shot of the conversation follows. A flashback to sometime back in time appears Leonardo is now well dressed in a suit, no longer in his weakened state and his joined by a few other people. They are all eating there are a few repeated shot reverse shots. Leonardo is shown as a very smart and intellectually driven man who is in control of the scene. After a few moments we jump to another setting and scene an establishing shot shows a street in anarchy exploding cars and gun shots, the opening finishes with medium close up of Leonardo sitting down thinking about the events.
Film Introduction 3
Kick-Ass
At the start of the film we see a establishing shot of what looks to be Chicago we see a slow pan down to the top of a building, where a man/boy is standing on the edge dressed in a very stereotypical superhero costume. A soft voice over is laid across the footage to drive the plot. The Superhero in question beings to ready himself to jump, we cut to shots of a large group of passers by who are looking straight up to the top of this mammoth structure at this small red figure. He then Jumps the music is in a very major keys indicating a happy momentous occasion he falls and falls the crowds begin to clap a close up of him falling follows. we then have a point of view shot of the superhero falling to the ground the ground moves closer and closer until the superhero crashes into a taxi at the foot of the building the camera pans along the large crowds faces for their reaction. The camera pans round the superhero's lifeless body lying on the top of this taxi the voice over continues again the camera shot pans to the back of the taxi where we see the opening title the words "kick-ass" on the number plate of the taxi.
